Christmas at The Lion
Festive party menus from 20th November, and our Christmas Day Feast in Llewelyn's Restaurant.
Celebrations
Celebrate life's most meaningful moments with us, in the heart of Criccieth.
Whatever you are marking, we have the room for it. The Lion sits on The Green in the middle of town — guests can walk to us, and the ones who travel can stay the night in one of our 46 bedrooms and studio apartments. Tell us the date and roughly how many people, and we will come back to you with a plan and a price.
Celebrate your day in style.
From a long lunch with the family to a milestone party that runs until the bar closes. Sit-down meals from Llewelyn's menu, buffets, or drinks and canapés in the bar — with set menus for larger groups so nobody waits.
Cakes accommodated and served, tables decorated to your colours, and drinks packages if you would rather put money behind the bar. We are good at surprise parties, too: tell us the plan and we will keep it quiet.
A love worth commemorating.
Whether it is the first year or the fiftieth, mark it somewhere that means something. A quiet table by the window, a bottle chilled on arrival, and a room upstairs with a view of the castle.
For golden and diamond anniversaries with children, grandchildren and everyone in between, we will arrange private dining and hold rooms for those travelling far. Renewing your vows? A ceremony nearby, then back to us for the meal and the evening.
Before the big day.
A base in town, a good meal and a bar that stays open — with the beach and the castle on the doorstep. Start with an elegant afternoon tea, walk down to Criccieth Castle, then dinner booked for the evening.
Reserved tables, drinks packages and cocktails in The Mane Place afterwards. Rooms and studio apartments so the whole party stays under one roof, with group rates on request.
A new beginning starts here.
Gentle, easy gatherings for the people who matter most. A sit-down lunch or a relaxed buffet, timed around the church, with children's menus and high chairs as standard.
For baby showers: afternoon tea, a light lunch, or simply cake and fizz — with a quieter corner of the room if you would rather not share the space. Family rooms and self-catering apartments for relatives coming from further afield.
For thanking your team, or gathering old friends.
Set menus and drinks packages that keep the budget predictable. Our festive party menus run from late November — see Christmas at The Lion for dates and prices.
School, regiment or family reunions get a long table, a set menu and a bar, with rooms for those who have travelled. For daytime meetings: a private space, tea and coffee through the day, lunch from the kitchen and free parking on The Green.
A dignified farewell.
Our premises are offered for respectful and dignified funeral receptions, with refreshments provided in-house. A calm, private room and a team who will handle the details quietly, so your family does not have to.
Tea, coffee and sandwiches, a hot buffet, or a sit-down meal — whatever suits. We understand these are rarely planned far ahead; call us and we will do what we can, whatever the date. Bedrooms held for relatives travelling a distance at our best available rate.
Raising a glass, just because.
A family reunion, a retirement, an engagement, a christening lunch that turned into a party, or simply getting everyone you like into one room and feeding them properly. If it matters to you, we will make room for it.
Tell us what you have in mind and we will build the day around it.
Give us the date, rough numbers and what you have in mind. We will come back to you with options and a price — no obligation, and you will speak to someone who works here, not a call centre.
